Leadership Team

Monarch Practice Transitions is led by a highly experienced team of people – including former vet practice owner of multiple hospitals and accomplished merger and acquisition specialists. We understand what it takes to create a successful transition and our proprietary MonarchMatch™ process guarantees the perfect fit on practice exit.

Chris Rocchio, DVM

Founder And CEO

Dr. Chris Rocchio has been a vet for more than 30 years. He and his wife
Dr. Debbie Chew have owned two small animal vet practices in the Albany NY, area. One they sold in 2020 and the other in 2024.

The longevity of vet practices and the desire to help associate veterinarians purchase or buy-in to a vet practice, was a big motivator for Dr. Chris to
co-found Monarch in 2015. He viewed it as a natural extension of his career as a vet, one which he continues to enjoy as a ‘new career’. Experiencing transition with his own practices provides Dr. Chris and the Monarch team with unique insights to enable transactions that align with the vision of both sellers and buyers, and is the impetus behind MonarchMatch™, the firm’s unique proprietary process.

Dr. Chris is a regular speaker on topics related to practice transition at vet conferences across the US. You can meet up with him at one of his
speaking events.

David is an experienced mergers and acquisitions advisor with more than 40 years of leading transactions for sellers of businesses. He has been part of hundreds of deals in private equity, investment banking, finance and general management; exceeding over $1 billion in transactions.

David is also a co-founding partner with Dr. Chris and brings his vast experience to veterinary practice purchase and sale at Monarch. Legal, regulatory and compliance, financials and more all are areas where he brings his insights to the vet practice transition process.

David’s ability to listen and interpret the vet practice owner’s priorities enables him to deliver options to achieve the best outcome. Business Development Team

Trent Homec, MBA

Executive Director of Business Development, West

Trent grew up in the veterinary industry. Trent’s father is a veterinarian who owned his practice and Trent spent his early years doing the various jobs at the clinic, learning about the independently owned veterinary industry from the ground up. His passion for the veterinary business grew from there. Although his goal was to attend veterinary school and take over the family business, Trent quickly realized that he loved learning about businesses and shifted to study marketing and later earned an MBA.

After receiving his Masters degree, Trent accepted a job at VCA, the largest veterinary consolidator in the industry. At VCA, he spent 8 years in regional operations, and later joined the business development team acquiring practices. Thrive Pet Healthcare brought him onto their team in 2019 where he continued in a mergers and acquisitions role, until joining the team at Monarch. Trent has completed hundreds of transactions in the veterinary space, helping veterinarians with their succession planning and achieving wealth.
